Big news is being issued from the newspaper to the readers: the Aurum is going digital. Reduced budgets call for crafty changes, and with the new location of news, the Aurum will be updated far more often and filled by more student input.
The newspaper will continue to be written largely by its staff members while expanding to include more than just articles. Being online allows for videos, links, and colored pictures to be published. Students are invited to contribute what they write or create to be uploaded to the Aurum’s website www.sdsmtaurum.com. All submissions will be reviewed by the Aurum’s editors to filter out inappropriate content, but writers are welcome to be creative.
The Aurum staff is very excited about the plans for the future. Paper issues will still come out at most twice a semester, but more up-to-date material will be found on the web. We hope this will create a following by a larger audience by encompassing more subjects that interest them.
Some articles found in the paper issue will be continued as blogs online; keep up with any additions to the web page by subscribing to the RSS feed.
